 Shovawy PandayMrs. Shovawy Panday studied up to the fifth grade and was married off at age 15. Her husband is a carpenter and they are blessed with a daughter and a son. Shovawy was introduced to Keya Palm Handicrafts through her mother-in-law in 2005. Her income brought a positive change for her family. Recently, her husband developed his own workshop and their children are studying. She spends most of her income bearing the family expenditures and saving their children's future. |  Shukurjan BegumShukurjan was born to a poor family in a small village called Bagdha. She was married off at age of fifteen, but her husband abandoned her eighteen years ago. Shukurjan has a daughter and a son. While looking for job, she heard about Mennonite Central Committee (MCC). She became a weaver and has good skills to make bath mitts and and hemp twine.
Shukurjan purchased land and built a tin shed house with the earnings from Bagdha Enterprise. She saves money for the future of her children. |  Tahera BegumTahera is a producer of Hajiganj Handicrafts Crochet unit. She has four sisters and one brother. She studied up to the fifth grade in a madras, a muslim school. Her parents arranged her marriage at the age of 14. After twelve years of their marriage, her husband died by unknown disease.
Since 2005 she works at Hajiganj and she is one of the best artisans. She married off her tree daughters and can continue to save some money for their future.

 Sreemoti Mina RaySreemoti lived in Kirtoniapara bosti, in the North Bangladesh with her three sisters and one brother. Because of very low income of her parents she couldn’t get the chance to study in school. She learned how to write her name from an NGO worker.
She got married at the age of 15 and found a job at Hajiganj Handicrafts. Together they have two daughters and with the money she earns, she can let them go to school and buy clothing for them.
Her dream is to once build a own house. |  Shimu (fake name)Before joining Sacred Mark Enterprise, Shimu was forced to work as a sex worker. She does not like to talk about her past, rather of her present. She has a husband, a little son and a baby girl. With the money she earns they can rent a room for their family.
She learned how to make soaps, blankets and recently also how to work on a sewing machine.
When she has a lot of work, her husband prepares the meals in the house, which is unusual in this Bengali tradition. |  Shefali ChokrobortiShefali got married when she was sixteen; her husband repairs bicycles. They have one daughter and a son. Because they needed more money, she decided to look for a job. She found it at Bonoful in the product making section. Gradually the financial condition of her family has improved over the last 17 years. Last year her husband arranged their daughters marriage and her son is now studying in the 8th grade in a local high school. |
